                                       FPV Twister ready for maiden

I always have a lot of fun flying electric duck fan jets so I picked up the Multiplex Twister to try some FPV piloting with it. I decided on the Twister because it's made from MPX's durable EPP foam and at the moment I first saw it my thought was "This looks like it would be great jet for FPV piloting".

The jet comes with a brushless Himax motor and duck fan unit which is just enough power to have some fun  with but some may want to increase the power plant to handle the added FPV gear if lots of speed is what you desire. The jet is easy to hand launch and on the maiden flights it was a handful until it gets trimmed. This is the easiest jet I have flown and it's ability to fly slow makes it a good candidate for a trainer jet. It's also larger then most jets in the Park-Flyer category at 45" long with a wingspan of 33".

After flying it third person view and trimming it with the Hobby Wireless gear on-board I gave the EDF FPV jet a try. I had my spotter toss it in the air and just like my first maiden it was a bit of a handful at first. I settled down a bit after a couple of close calls with the ground. Flying it didn't seem any different then flying a prop plane other then being more responsive as you would expect with a jet. It is is a nice flying EDF Jet but I feel it's lacking on power with the FPV gear added to it. I stalled it a few times but it recovers very nicely and floats very well for a jet.

On my second flight I lightened it up a couple of oz's by using a 2100mah instead of the 3200 I normally use. It helped a bit but still might need a little more power for FPV piloting. As for the "WOW Factor" this jet gets a lot of attention at the feild and sounds awesome through the goggles ear pieces.
